W.I.P 2007 Mini Cooper S

so here is the progress of my Mini Cooper Model. Been spending alot of time on the front making sure that all squared away and all the pieces are connected properly.

I've never done a car model before so this being my first attempt I did it the way it seemed logical to me which was make all the main panel pieces then connect them together, then I will mirror the otherside and I'll have a whole car.

anyway here's some pictures...

UPDATE 9/1/09: Got a bit more done on the car which makes it look like it's coming together.

I updated my website with a couple new stills and a videos section. Right now videos only has a test I had done for a fan film but plan to get more up in that section.

here is the exercise I've been working on, this is only the second walk I've done since animating and think it came out much better then the first.

It's still in blocking phase moving into final clean up but wanted to post my progress on it.

Before I jump into it I'm in the process of doing an animation exercise, after which I'll dive into heavy shot planning. I'll be posting the exercise soon...

after talking to a friend of mine about an animation idea I had and thinking about it some more I decided to develop it a bit more into a short. I'm planning on it being a silent short so I can work more on pushing the animation and acting.

Currently planning it out into shots and so it makes sense :)

will post when I have more to share on it.

Sorry for the lack of updates, had some things come up but gonna get back to updating this I wanna say at the very least once a month if not more.

Anyway on the 11 Second Club forums someone came up with the idea of doing a weekly pose session where an emotion is given and you take and pose a character in said position. The starting one was Sad....

this is what I came up with

With some comments that I recieved this is the updated version and an actual render from maya after playing around with rendering options and lighting.

Here is another Flipbook rampup exercise which is a ball rolling on a hill. Since the Holidays are coming up and I'll be off work I'm intending to get some things done so I should have some new stuff to show when I get back.

Finished the first part of exercise 1 for JR, Plan to translate it to 3D in the next day or so.

Also an update on Sonic, the rig is almost done so I should have him in some poses even in an animation soon.

Update 12/17/08:

Worked on the 3D version of the Exercise, also learned how to start using maya to animate. Now that I have this first exercise done I'm gonna pick up the pace to do the rest pretty fast.

This is my first attempt at doing anything in Digicell Flipbook, this is the program I'll be using to skecth out animations first as reommended by Jason Ryan on his webinar this past Saturday and in his videos.

Hey Everyone, ok so the intial post last night was to just get things up and running here, I'm gonna be posting a few topics here in a little while with W.I.P images for some of the stuff I'm working on at the moment

So currently the projects I have going are :
-Sonic the Hedgehog Character Model
-Macbook Model
-a WWII Memorial Piece

As they get more updated from where they are I'll be sure to post them up for your critques and comments. Also on the right side bar I linked a gallery to final Renders of projects I have done, you can click on them for a high res image and also see some project gallerys with Final renders of the project aswell as W.I.P images from when I was making it.

I'm also finally getting on doing some of the videos I aquired from Jason Ryan Animation, just to rekinder my skills in that arena, and also plan to start doing some game related material very soon so I can start getting something together to send out.

On this Blog I intend to show things I am currently working on for my demo reel / project I'm currently working on if permited. If you have any comments or suggestions on a certain piece I'd love to hear it cause that makes the piece that much better and helps me grow as a 3D artist.
